Print Professional - Training in Printing
Solid Practical Training in Germany
Print Professional takes a hands-on approach to
explaining innovative applications and new technologies - both
in the classroom and in a pressroom environment. The knowledge you
already have is added to while taking your individual situation
into account: the best way to get up to speed!
Seize opportunities to secure your future success
Globalization is opening up many new opportunities for
printing companies. But in order to seize them, printers have to
continually invest in their own skills. Print shop employees - as
well as teachers and those working for printing industry suppliers
- require sound knowledge of the processes and practical workings
of Prepress, Press and Postpress, in addition to commercial and
business skills. To meet these needs, the Print Media Academy is
offering Print Professional, a unique training program that conveys
the latest practical knowledge on printing processes and modern
technologies.
If you
- want to give your employees a long-term, practice-oriented
training opportunity,
- will soon be taking over your parents' print shop,
- want to invest in your own further education and training,
or
- are a teacher or representative wishing to get your
knowledge up to date,
then the Print Professional course offers you a unique chance
to acquire the capabilities and expertise you need to secure your
future.
Theory and practice
Print Professional pays equal attention to providing a
solid theoretical base and hands-on practical experience. What is
learned in the classroom is put into practice in the pressroom:
course participants get to roll up their sleeves and perform the
actual tasks involved in producing real print jobs. They experience
all processes first-hand, from designing a print product across
print preparations and printing to Postpress finishing.
Attendees are directly familiarized with different printing
techniques and special applications, for instance with inline
coating in theory and practice. They also learn about the hardware
and software used in the printing industry today.
Field trips to printing companies and binderies, and of
course also to the factory of Heidelberger Druckmaschinen AG in
Wiesloch and the Print Media Academy in Heidelberg, rounding the
curriculum by providing first-hand, eyewitness impressions of how
the print media industry really works.
Custom-tailored
Print Professional supplements the knowledge and skills
taught by basic training programs and specialized Heidelberg
courses. The content of each course is flexibly tailored to the
participants' level of expertise and personal training goals.
The program ends with a written examination and a practical test.
Because the number of participants in each group is limited to 15,
the teachers can address their particular needs and wishes. On
request, individual courses can also be arranged. The course
offerings are available in English and German.
During their stay in Germany, course participants also get to
experience the country and its people: entertainment and cultural
events round out the technical training.
Duration and dates
Print Professional can vary in intensity. Depending on
the amount of time available to participants, course programs can
be put together lasting four weeks or three months. What both
versions have in common is their emphasis on practice-oriented,
hands-on teaching.
Of course, longer courses provide a greater number of
concrete practical experiences: participants in the three-month
programs are firmly integrated in the production routines of the
training print shop.
