The official opening of the Print Media Academy’s new Training Center, the "Educ@te Center", took place in July 2007 in Eppelheim, near Heidelberg. Heidelberg’s Chief Executive Officer, Bernhard Schreier, and Bernd Schopp, Head of the Print Media Academy, welcomed around 250 guests to the celebration, including customers, representatives of industry associations, universities in the printing sector, course participants and staff.

Eppelheim’s Mayor, Dieter Mörlein, presented Eppelheim’s town flag to Heidelberg’s CEO to demonstrate the solidarity between Heidelberg and Eppelheim. By cutting a red ribbon, Dieter Mörlein and Bernhard Schreier marked symbolically the opening of the new "Educ@te Center".
The Print Media Academy’s Training Center offers customers and staff throughout the world extensive practical and theoretical training activities in offset printing. The latest developments in printing technology will be communicated in a clear and practical manner. Training courses on presses and seminars for "Prinect" prepress software will be held in line with the latest standards. With a total area of 8,500 square meters and around 700 training courses for 7,300 participants yearly, this training center is unique in the worldwide printing sector.
