Print Buyer University – July 16-20, 2012:
The world’s leading seminar program for managing international print projects
Print Buyer University is the "kick-off" for efficient print
media production: marketing, purchasing and production
professionals gain specialised expertise in strategic print buying
and ensuring consistent quality. Print Buyer University will save
you time and money.
The challenge for print buyers is to manage print jobs
efficiently through procurement and production while guaranteeing
consistent quality and on-time in-budget completion. This requires
specialised expertise. Print Buyer University delivers this
know-how over five days, with six live-demos and twelve speakers.
The program provides access to subject matter experts of
international calibre. Small group size and international
participation encourage a rich exchange of experiences and ideas
which attendees rate highly. Participants also make use of the
technical facilities of Heidelberger Druckmaschinen AG for
practical exercises involving actual pressruns, an experience
rarely available in day-to-day production. They learn the most
effective way to work together with their print suppliers to
achieve repeatable quality and consistent results. At the end of
the program, participants are certified as a "Print Media
Advisor" to document their ability to manage complex offset
print projects.
Target group
This unique program is especially designed for those
involved in the management of print projects: Marketing, purchasing
and production professionals in advertising agencies, publishing
companies, brand suppliers and manufacturers as well as government
agencies.

How to Judge Print Quality

production. You observe the impact of lighting on colour perception
and visual judgement of proofs and print.

FOGRA and is a lecturer at Berlin University of the Arts.
Day 3:
Achieving "OK to Print"
Heidelberg experts and Florian Süßl guide you
through a detailed demonstration of ISO compliant offset printing.
The emphasis is on the use of measurable criteria for print quality
assessment. You will learn how to evaluate print quality on an
objective basis which will enable you to make press pass decisions
with confidence.

Premium Printing
A highlight of the program is a full day in Wiesloch at
the Print Media Center for packaging and special applications.
Sabine Roob, head of Product Management for Packaging
Workflow at Heidelberg, gives you an insight to packaging and label
production, and innovative technologies in this area. You see a
live demonstration of a specialised label and packaging workflow,
which also includes print finishing techniques such as die cutting,

which enhance high value print products. Manfred Weiß,
Heidelberg Product Manager Special Applications, takes you through
a wide variety of attention-getting techniques that you can use in
your print production.
